1/10 파스텔 신년 산수화 Pastel New Year’s Landscape > 2025-2026 종이랑 미술이랑 A (PreK Art - A)

이번 시간에는 2026년 새해를 맞이하여, 파스텔을 활용한 산수화를 한지 위에 그려 보았습니다. 먼저 프린트된 도안의 산봉우리 선을 따라 오린 뒤, 마스킹 기법을 사용하여 같은 색조 안에서 명도가 다른 세 가지 색의 파스텔(연한색, 중간색, 진한색)로 각 산의 형태를 그라데이션으로 표현해 보았습니다. 한지의 질감과 파스텔이 어우러져 바위산의 질감이 잘 살아났습니다. 가장 위에 있는 산봉우리에는 종이에 펀치로 뚫은 원 모양 구멍을 활용하여, 오일 파스텔을 이용해  마스킹 기법으로 떠오르는 해를 표현해 보았습니다. 마지막으로 오일 파스텔과 물감이 섞이지 않는 성질을 이용해, 흰색 오일 파스텔로 이름을 쓰고 가장자리를 두른 뒤, 빨간색 물감으로 안쪽을 채색하여 한국화에서 사용되는 전각의 느낌을 표현해 보았습니다. 유아 학생들이 사용하기에는 다소 까다로운 파스텔과 물감을 사용하여 손이나 옷이 많이 더러워지기도 했지만, 아이들이 새로운 미술 재료를 직접 사용해 보고 탐구하는 모습을 통해 의미 있는 시간이었습니다.

새해 첫날, 산 위로 떠오르는 해처럼 희망차고 밝은 한 해가 되시기를 기원합니다.

To welcome the New Year of 2026, the students created a landscape painting on hanji (traditional Korean paper) using pastels during this class. First, they cut along the mountain ridge lines of a printed template. Then, using a masking technique, they expressed each mountain with a gradient effect by applying three pastel shades of the same color tone—light, medium, and dark. The texture of the hanji blended beautifully with the pastels, effectively bringing out the rugged feel of rocky mountains. For the top mountain peak, the students used a circular hole punched in paper and applied an oil pastel with a masking technique to represent the rising sun. Lastly, by exploring the principle that oil pastels and paint do not mix, they wrote their names with a white oil pastel, outlined the edges, and filled the inside with red paint to create the look of a Jeongak, traditional Korean seal used in Korean painting. Although using pastels and paint can be a bit challenging for young children—and hands and clothes did get quite messy—it was a meaningful experience to see the students explore and experiment with new art materials firsthand.
