오늘 민국반 수업 내용 입니다. 

- 도입: 인사, 출석 체크 및 받아쓰기

- 아침간식

- 음악 시간

- 학급 회의 

- 점심 및 자유놀이

- 한글 공부: 팀활동 - 책읽고 줄거리 말하기 

황금같은 토요일 아침, 늦잠도 자며 놀고 싶은 마음을 뒤로하고 한글학교에 오는 아이들을 보면 정말 감동스럽습니다. 그런 아이들을 보고 있노라면 어떻게 하면 아이들이 좀 더 재미있고 적극적으로 한글공부를 접할수 있을까 항상 고민하게 됩니다. 한국인으로써 정체성 뿐만 아니라, 한글과 문화 교육을 통해 어떻게 한국을 좀 더 알게 해 줄수 있을까 하는 것은 한국학교 모든 선생님들의 고민이지 않을까 싶습니다. 

오늘은 민국반 아이들이 모두 등교를 한 가운데 민국반 학급회의 내용을 다 같이 다시 한번 짚어보았습니다. 아이들과 민주주의에 대해 다시 짧게 복습을 하고 의견에 대해 모두 다 함께 거수 투표도 해 보았습니다. 아이들에게 자유는 공짜로 주어지는 것이 아님을 알려주고 또한 그에 따른 책임에 대해서도 잠시 얘기해 보았습니다. 

또한 한글 활동 시간에는 2-3명이 한 조를 이뤄서 같이 짧은 동화책을 읽고 줄거리 내용 및 인물을 짧게 소개하는 시간을 가져보았습니다. 친한 친구들과 함께 내용을 파악하고 삐뚤뺴뚤 하지만 최선을 다해 한글로 줄거리 및 등장인물을 적은 아이들이 참 대견합니다.

I can't help but get touched by students who come to Korean school on Saturdays - despite the urge to sleep in and enjoy Saturday mornings - waking up early to get ready for school and coming to school on Saturdays takes a great commitment and dedication. And it, in turn, leaves me thinking and wondering about ways to make the lessons more fun and enjoyable for students - where the lessons are more student-led and also include opportunities and strategies for students to take ownership but still fun and enjoyable for students to learn Korean language as well as the culture. I am sure all Korean School teachers must ponder on the same question some time in their careers. 

Today, we had the entire class of Minguk students show up to school. Yay! It was great to see everyone and as such, we went over the list of items that was discussed during the last Student conference session. All got to participate this time in voting by raising hands and sharing opinions. We also talked about how freedom is not free and that it comes with responsibility during this time. 

During the 'Teamwork makes the Dreamwork' Activity, students got to team up in small groups and did a 'Read-and-Tell'. Each team received a book written in Korean, read it, then wrote on a piece of paper (1) what the story was about and (2) who the main characters were. They also got to share it with the entire class after they completed it.
