ANNOUNCEMENTs + REMINDERS:
- This last week, October 21st, we celebrated Dokdo Day! Students learned about the holiday (although not a national one) and the history behind why it is an important day to Korea.
- Students are allowed to wear costumes this week! There will be a "parade" for us to walk around school and collect candy while having a chance to look at other students in their costumes. We will be doing some fun activities because it's almost Halloween!
CLASS TIME:
- Last week, we did various activities like arts and crafts to learn about Dokdo Day. We will be continuing them this upcoming week, Oct 28th.
- Until now, our students have been practicing how to greet others, introduce ourselves, and to ask basic questions.
- We have also started to learn reading and writing of the 5 basic vowels "아. 야, 어, 여, 오, 요, 우, 유, 으, 이" AND incorporating a few consonants like giyeok "ㄱ" and nieun "ㄴ".
- Using the letters we learn, we have been applying them to words like 오이 (cucumber), 여우 (fox), 고기 (meat), 누나 (older sister), 우유 (milk), 야구 (baseball), etc.
- The goal is for students to be familiar and confident in their vowels and consonants so that they can apply and use them in reading and writing.
HOMEWORK: There is no homework for this week.
