11월 4일 - 자화상 1-1

오늘은 팀버튼의 영화에 등장하는 캐릭터 스타일을 분석하여 그 특성을 파악하고, 같은 스타일로 자화상을 그리기 위한 스케치를 시작했습니다.

먼저 학생들은 팀버튼 캐릭터를 보면서 공통된 특징으로, 큰 눈, 가늘고 긴 목, 그림자, 무표정, 단순하고 굵은 강렬한 선 등, 캐릭터의 과장된 표현을 찾아냈습니다. 그리고 캐릭터를 그리는 순서에 따라 스케치를 시작했습니다.

팀버튼 스타일 자화상 클래스는 총 3시간으로 예상하며, 11월 4일에는 스케치, 11일에는 자화상 완성, 18일에는 자화상에 적절하게 어울리는 프레임 디자인 단계로 진행됩니다.

이번 작품도 모든 작업이 끝난 후 미술반 교실 복도에 12월 2일 작은 전시회를 갖습니다. 또한 이후 학교 공개수업에서 전시를 하게되므로 담당교사가 당분간 보관합니다. 감사합니다.  

Students analyzed the characters’ styles in Tim Burton’s films and identified characteristics and started sketching to create a self-portrait in the same style.

Students started by identifying the exaggerations of the characters: big and white eyes, thin and long neck, shadows, and simple, bold, and strong lines. Etc. Then we started sketching following the order of drawing characters.

This project is estimated to take 3 sessions, sketching on November 4^th, completing artwork on 11^th, and designing a frame to match the self-portrait on the 18^th.

When the project is completed, we will have a small exhibition in the art classroom hallway on December 2^nd. It will be displayed in the school open house, so I will keep it for a while.
