그리드를 이용한 스케치 및 식물 표현 실습 1 : 그리드를 이용하여 정확한 형태를 스케치하는 방법을 연습하고, 식물의 질감과 양감을 소프트파스텔로 표현하는 실습을 한다.
Grid sketch and botanical illustration practice 1: Students practice sketching using a grid for accurate shapes and use a soft pastel to show how to express plant’s texture and volume.

오늘은 소프트 파스텔을 이용해서 식물을 그렸습니다.
소프트 파스텔은 매우 부드러워서 손으로 문질러서 채색 할 수 있다는 큰 특징을 가지고 있습니다.
따라서 여러가지 색을 손가락으로 문지르는 것 만으로도 매우 자연스럽게 그라데이션 할 수 있습니다.
또, 좀 더 빠르고 쉽게, 정확한 형태를 스케치 할 수 있도록 ‘그리드’를 이용하는 방법을 배워서 선인장 및 꽃의 복잡한 구조를 그리드로 단순화 시켜서 스케치 해보았습니다.
이번주 스케치에 이어서 다음주에는 파스텔의 블렌딩 특성을 연습하고 컬러링하여 각자 작품을 완성해보도록 하겠습니다.
Students drew a plant using soft pastels. Soft pastels have the best feature that they are very soft and can be colored by rubbing them with fingers. So students can create a very natural gradient just by rubbing different colors together with their fingers. Students learned how to use ‘grid’ to make sketching complex shapes faster, easier and more accurate and they simplified the complex structures of succulent and flowers into grids to sketch them.
Following on from this week’s sketch, next week, students will practice blending colors using pastels and try to complete it.
