1학기 마지막 수업에서는 모두 함께 "천문" 영화를 관람하고 Potluck으로 비빔밥을 먹었습니다.

In the last class of the first semester, we all watched the movie “Forbidden Dream” together and enjoyed bibimbap at a potluck. I was grateful that we were able to wrap up the semester in such a fun way.

Historical Journey with 'Forbidden Dream'

이 영화는 조선의 위대한 왕 세종대왕과 천재 과학자 장영실의 이야기를 다룹니다. 신분의 차이를 넘어 '조선만의 시간과 하늘'을 만들고자 했던 두 사람의 뜨거운 우정과 그들을 가로막는 시대적 배경을 보여줍니다.

The movie tells the story of King Sejong the Great and the genius scientist Jang Yeong-sil. Despite their different social classes, they shared a deep friendship and a dream to create Joseon's own calendar and astronomical tools, facing challenges from the era's political climate.

2. 주요 인물 소개 (Key Characters)

• 세종대왕 (King Sejong): 조선의 제4대 왕. 백성을 사랑하여 한글을 창제하고 과학 기술을 발전시키려 노력한 성군. The 4th King of Joseon. A wise ruler who created Hangeul and strove to advance science for his people.

• 장영실 (Jang Yeong-sil): 노비 출신이지만 뛰어난 재능으로 세종의 총애를 받은 천재 과학자. 자격루, 간의 등 수많은 발명품을 만듦. A genius scientist born as a slave but favored by the King for his talent. He invented the water clock (Jagyeongnu) and various astronomical tools.
